PROMOTION: the act of furthering the growth or development of something
PRO- A word in our culture that describes someone getting paid millions to in most cases; shoot, run, hit, throw a ball or to drive, ride, fight, swing, fish, explore and you can now even be considered a PRO eater if you can shove 68 hotdogs down your gullet in 4 minutes. Lastly, you can give yourself a silly nickname and the world will call you that name. (Chad, even though you are no longer playin’ ball thanks for giving up Occhocinco, it made us all feel a little silly saying it!)
Take away the millions of dollars and you have someone that is good at something. “Man, he or she sure is a real PRO at____!”
MOTION- An impulse that tells the mind or will to move…The cheetah gets an impulse to create motion when it sees a gazelle wander off from the crowd. Or when the fastest men in the world Usain Bolt lines up on a track and sprints down it in seconds for more gold medals.
If you are alive then your body is constantly in motion. Your heart rate is tracked by BPM Beats Per Minute. A beat means that the human heart should remain in constant motion until the beating stops. Then from the heart you have the motion of blood that moves throughout your body from head to toe. Even in your brain you have a trillion neurons that signal to each other to help the body remain in motion whether awake or asleep.
How do we become PRO’s at MOTION?
WE GO!!! WE GROW!!! In Christ!!!
[And I pray] that the participation in and sharing of your faith may produce and promote full recognition and appreciation and understanding and precise knowledge of every good [thing] that is ours in [our identification with] Christ Jesus [and unto His glory].
Let’s go back to the word PRO: A word that can also describe someone who goes above and beyond for the Kingdom. Someone who actually lives out being Jesus hands and feet and who goes out into the world with the story of Jesus and their own personal story of how they came to know Him.
Sidenote: If you don’t know. I spent almost 5 years playing competitive beach volleyball and as fun as that was the only characteristic I carried in being like Jesus back then, “I was barefoot or in sandals(flip-flops)!”
I cannot tell you how great it feels to be a PRO for the Kingdom and helping others become Pro’s for Jesus.
